Explanation of the zine
Can you think of alternative material resources or streams in and around your house that could be useful for this assignment? Think of materials from nature/environment or streams that would otherwise be classified as waste.
Answer: Blood
During the tutorial I will explain the method in detail. The basic four steps of the method are:
1. Understanding the material
2. Creating material's vision
3. Manifesting material's experience patterns
4. Designing material/product concepts
Please try to identify the four steps of the method in the case studies:

This week we dive into materials and how to make your own bioplastics. The assignment of this week is to make your own bioplastics and use the Material Driven Design (MDD)-method to come up with future applications.
Core concepts: materials research, circularity, material driven design, material aesthetics
What: Make your own bioplastics and use the MDD-method to come up with future applications.
Make your own bioplastics. Try various recipes, add other materials, play with textures and use your mold. Document your process and findings.
Material properties sheet: Describe the properties of your material
Experiential toolkit: Understand the experience of your material
Future applications: Develop a concept for future applications
Plastic is a word that originally meant “pliable and easily shaped
